Michael Donahue and Brian Halloran are shot and killed in a car parked outside Anthony’s Pier 4 restaurant.

May 11, 1982

Donahue, an innocent victim, and Halloran, an alleged underworld figure, are shot by James “Whitey” Bulger and Stephen Flemmi after FBI Special Agent John Connolly that Halloran was an informant for the agency. The FBI is subsequently found guilty in a wrongful death suit brought by the families of the victims and ordered to pay almost $8.5 million in damages in May 2009. But a Federal Appeals Court reverses the decision on the grounds that the suits were filed too late on February 10, 2011.
